Teachers at in Kawambwa district have abandoned the two schools for fear of alleged witchcraft in the two areas.
The two schools have since remained without teachers for the past two months.
And Labour Deputy Minister Ronald Chitotela has given a seven days ultimatum to the district administration and the police in Kawambwa to resolve the witchcraft wrangle between teachers and the community at the two schools.
Mr. Chitotela made the directive when he paid a courtesy call on Kawambwa District Commissioner Ivo Mpasa in Kawambwa today.
The Labour Deputy Minister who is also Pambashe area Member of Parliament has also expressed displeasure at the unofficial departure of the teachers from the two schools.
And Kawambwa DC Ivo Mpasa said his office is working together with the District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) to resolve the alleged witchcraft issues in the area.
Mr. Mpasa also cautioned civil servants in Kawambwa district to ensure that they follow right procedures when leaving their posts in case of any anomaly.
Teachers and pupils of Kalinda primary school in Kalisizo Sub County in Masaka have abandoned classes after they found fetishes and a human skull dumped in the classroom. They suspect the fetishes were dropped there by unknown people to kill someone in the school. As result teachers are now conducting lessons under tree shades.
They claim that their colleagues Imelda Nakitende and Mike Muwonge were bewitched to death by unknown people. Dinah Mugidde, head mistress Kilinda Primary School says that the fetishes and human skull were dropped in the class on Monday night.
She says that most pupils were afraid of entering the class on Tuesday morning forcing her to send them back home.
