Skeptic News: Student shortage closes Creationist school

The Maltese Education department confirms that Accelerated Christian Academy closed down because there are no students attending.

Contrary to on-line rumours the Accelerated Christian Academy of Mosta was not closed down due to it’s controversial creationist science curriculum. Nor because complaints had been received at the Quality and Assurance Department of the education ministry.

Nor did the Education ministry make any reference made to the Council of Europe’s Resolution 1580, which specifically urges European member states “to firmly oppose the teaching of creationism as a scientific discipline on an equal footing with the theory of evolution and in general resist presentation of creationist ideas in any discipline other than religion.

The school closed, quite simply, because it had no students.
